About Evgeny Baranov

I'm a Russian writer, and I've been telling stories for as long as I can remember. Over the years, I've published eight books and more than thirty short stories — across science fiction, fantasy, detective fiction, and prose collections. My work often explores what happens when ordinary people brush up against the extraordinary: the boundaries of reality, the nature of consciousness, and the quiet weight of creation.

In 2025, I was honored to become a laureate of the National Literary Prize "Nasledie" (Heritage) in the "Prose" nomination, receiving the Heritage Star 1st degree — the highest public award of the Russian Union of Writers. That same year, I was also a nominee for the "Writer of the Year" award and was awarded the Bulgakov Medal. I'm a member of the Russian Union of Writers (membership card No. 12-498).

Beyond writing, I've appeared in several film and television projects — from the music video for "Hotel Cosmos" (over 9 million views) to the lead role in the short film Telegraph — Made by Russians, and episodes of series like Vampires of the Middle Zone of Russia and Death in the Lens. I live in Moscow.
